Recommendations for making own Wedding Album

    Hi All,

Wedding is over and photographs have been taken and the photographer has given us all our pictures in high resolution on a CD. I want to make my own wedding album now online. I have made photo books before but I want something a bit more special for our wedding album, nice cover and really thick pages, that kind of thing. Not too concerned about price as I am willing to pay more, within reason of course!!

So, has anyone any recommendations of websites for me? I am finding it hard to get something that is better than the average photo book or that doesn't look like it came from the 80's (pictures of doves and wedding rings on the covers are rife!).

    Thanks in advance.

You might have some difficulty finding the thick page type of album that you would receive from a photographer as generally album manufacturers will only deal with working photographers and usually require proof of working status before setting up an account for you.

You could try contacting a photographer and see if they would order one for you if you were to design it yourself. I would imagine most wouldn't do it but you might find one that would ;)

    Have you tried Blurb.com?

Yeah I would really love thick pages in the book, it would just seem more durable and special... there is a business idea for someone if its so hard for the public to get their hands on!

blurb.com looks great, the quality looks lovely,i particularly like the square one with a linen cover and the prices are not bad either!! thanks for that recommendation!

Any business behaving like that deserves to go out of business. If you're going to turn down business in a recession, you're a moron.

Not really. If only photographers can buy from them, then isn't that an incentive for photographers to register with them (so they can offer their customers something they can't get elsewhere themselves)?

By losing business of the odd wedding couple here and there, you potentially gain the business of several photographers who will purchase many books throughout their career.

And how do they verify who's a photographer or not? It's hardly a protected term and, as we all know, the various accreditations available to photographers mean next to nothing.
