What grade faults are these? Driving test

    Hi,

I have a few problems when driving.

According to my instructure I go a little too fast on roundabouts (and can occasionally forget to look in my left mirror when exiting)

I some times drive in the centre of the lane instead of the left side.

I can forget to check my side mirrors when driving straight

Following another car into a hatch junction when turning right and the way isnt clear

I may overtake parked cars when cars are on coming, when safe but not as much clearance as they would like

Pressing on the clutch too soon when coming to a stop.

Going through an amber light when you probably could have stopped, stopping when you probably should have continued

I dont think I will actually make most of these mistakes, but they are the ones Im most likely to make. What grade fault are they (1, 2 or 3)

    Thanks

    Observation/speed

    Road positioning
I can forget to check my side mirrors when driving straight

    Observation
Following another car into a hatch junction when turning right and the way isnt clear

ROR/Observation, but fine to stop in a yellow box, but only if turning right
Pressing on the clutch too soon when coming to a stop.

    Clutch control
Going through an amber light when you probably could have stopped, stopping when you probably should have continued

    ROR/Dangerious driving

Cant remember the test sheet off hand, but a few possible level twos there, for obseravtion and road positioning, to many of them at a level 2 would be fail.

Going though the amber light could be a level 3/automatic fail if it was safe to stop.

I understand what heading they come under, but Im trying to find out if they are a level/grade 1 , 2 , or 3 fault

Reread the bottom of my post

    ;)

Possible level twos for the observations and and road positioning

Possible level 3 for skipping the amber light if it was safe to stop.

Can all depend on you examiners interpretation.

    OP, have you read this?
    http://rsa.ie/Documents/ADI/DrivingFault_Marking_Guides.pdf

It's useful for questions like these, even if it doesn't exactly answer your questions it gives you an idea of what mistakes constitute Grade 1/2/3 faults, under which section! There's not many exams you can take where you can see the marking scheme in advance :)

    Hi,

According to my instructure I go a little too fast on roundabouts A little too fast is not really worth a mark. But it may draw out other mistakes.(and can occasionally forget to look in my left mirror when exiting) Grade 2.

I some times drive in the centre of the lane instead of the left side. Absolutely fine, no mark.

I can forget to check my side mirrors when driving straight Not usually spotted, but draws out mistakes for position and reaction to hazards.

Following another car into a hatch junction when turning right and the way isnt clear Not usually marked unless you stay there / get in someones way

I may overtake parked cars when cars are on coming, when safe but not as much clearance as they would like Potentially ok, but can easily jump up to grade 3.

Pressing on the clutch too soon when coming to a stop. Grade 2

Going through an amber light when you probably could have stopped, stopping when you probably should have continued Very tricky, could get no mark or a grade 2 or easily a grade 3.

Marks can easily change between 1, 2 or 3. Depending on the exact situation. The above would be generalisations.
