    1. Your payment will be suspended unless you satisfactorily explain why you missed it.

    2. Yes, for three months only. Do some Googling to find out exact details/how to apply etc.

If you miss a payment in the PO (and remember it stays in the PO for at least three days) you will need to go to the SW office and explain why you missed it and, if necessary provide evidence of an interview, funeral of close relative, doctors cert in some cases etc. If explanation is accepted, they will release your payment back to the PO and it will show up within a few days. You are, however, allowed to take up to 12 days holiday in a year by informing SW in advance and presenting yourself again on your return, at which point they will release your payment to the PO:

If you move to another county while on Jobseekers Allowance, you should go to the SW office in your new area and provide evidence of your new address - a lease, bill etc. If you are on Jobseekers Benefit you do the same thing but it will be faster to transfer payment as there won't be time spent on checking out your means again vis a vis your possibly having moved in with a partner etc. While you are waiting for the payment to transfer you are entitled to go to the Community Welfare Officer at the local HSE health centre and apply for Supplementary Welfare Allowance to tide you over.
