BAI 'leak' concerning investigation into RTE

RTE are shedding crocodile tears because some of the BAI investigation into the Prime Time programme on Fr. Kevin Reynolds have been 'leaked'. I somehow doubt if any seasoned media observers are buying the story.

As I understand it, the classic way to nobble a story concerning an official investigation which will reach embarrasing findings is to leak extracts of it prior to the official publication. That way, the press will report the leaks but the body under investigation can refuse to comment on the contents of the leak because the official report hasn't yet been published.

Then when the official report is published, there's nothing new in it so it gets a few lines on an inside page.

    Mission accomplished.

    Well done RTE.

I don't think so. The idea of the BAI report, when it is published, getting a few lines is not credible.

Anyway, I thought it was the ridiculous for RTE to give out about the leak. Jesus, how many leaks have they been given over the years?

Nobody does hypocrisy like the media.

Nobody does hypocrisy like the media.

Especially the self-styled 'liberal' media :D
