    Hi Guys,

I am looking for a double bass player for my Gypsy Jazz project. We're already booked for a wedding and to provide music for swing dance class. We'd like to go busking on weekends and we'd like someone to come join us. We play a lot of Gypsy jazz & swing jazz standards. Currently we are two guitars & a violin.

    Thanks,
    Michael

EDIT: We are based in Dublin, Ireland.

    Hi there

My name is Joseph. I working very hard and perfectly. Currently I am a restaurant and entertainment manager in an Italian restaurant in St Helens, Merseyside. But the music is my life. I would like to play again in a band. Anyway I am a funny (crazy) musician, as all similar musician. I am from Hungary, I arrived to UK four years ago and I can play on double bass, piano and cimbalom. The music in my life was started when I was 5. I was 15 when I was ready to play every night. I have 22 years experience. I am 38 years old. I will send now my profil, what you can watch if you also think. I lived two years in Paris and I played there so many gipsy and other jazz music as well. I am a really experienced musician. Anyway the under past 22 years I played so so many gigs, other countries of the world. Just a few example: I lived two years in Belgium. There I played every night gipsy jazz. Or Germany. There as well. Please you looking for my profil here: http://www.starnow.com/josephracz/video/60019/

    I look forward your reply.

    Kind Regards

Hi Joseph, thanks a lot for the interest. I omitted to specify our location: Dublin, Ireland. Unfortunately, i dont think it will be possible for us to jam! Such a pity! You seem perfect! Thanks again, Michael

    Hi Doh,

Thanks for your interest but I dont think it would work. The electric bass lacks the percussive quality of a Double Bass player which in Gypsy jazz ensembles provides harmony & replaces the need for a drummer.

I know of 1 really good group called Gypsy Rebel Rabble (spelling may be wrong!). They played at my uncle and aunts anniversary in the summer and were excellent. Even if they arent your thing Im sure they could point you in the right direction.
