Advice in choosing an Electronic Drum Kit.

This would be for the beginner/intermediate. I used to drum on (and still own) an acoustic kit, but seeing that I'd like to practise without having to annoy my house-mates or the neighbours I'm looking for some lekky kits.

Decent enough quality (hit response time/durability/etc). I'm not too worried about the "brain" (different sounds or types of kit). Once it doesn't sound like its too electronic.....if that makes any sense!?

I'm not looking for stuff that's top of the range either as I want it to be cheap and cheerful but still get the bang for my buck....see what I did there? (sigh).

Thanks a mil for any/all help.

A Roland TD-3 or 4 with the mesh head snare (save your wrists) would a be a good place to start IMHO...

Ah thanks a mil for getting back to me. Completely forgot I asked! How much would you think that'd set me back?

There's a list of Roland kits on Thomann here. They start at a mind-boggling and wallet-empting €7,200!

The HD-3 set is a more reasonable €760.

Yeah pretty expensive all right! I'm just looking for a decent one for under a grand (if I can). Thomann seems to be the best site to get ideas, thanks a mil for the links.
