Xpert Taxis IPhone App

    Hi All,

    Long story short I booked a taxi with Xperts iphone app for 21:45 last night, the guy showed up at like 21:28. Despite the guy being so early we abandoned the rest of our party and left at 21:34 to find the guy had left the meter running since he arrived. After a stern word, I got him to set it back but my problem is that I am sure that I booked it for 21:45 on the app (my gf was sitting beside me at the time - she wanted to go make sure!) but I have no way of checking it, might but people off using the app in future?

    Also, the taxi had a very discreet camera in it but no notification of the camera anywhere? We didn't cause any trouble or weren't going to dodge the fare and I know there are people who might but I just found it unnerving there was no notification - especially if only the driver is keeping this footage?

    Dont see what your complaint /problem is ? YOu asked the taxi driver to re start the meter and he did .
    Theres a security camera in his car for his safety (and yours) which is great.Theres cameras in most taxis and dublin bus, street corners and supermarkets you didnt cause any trouble nor did the driver ,so whats the problem ?

    My experience of taxi despatch software was that a job booked for a specific time would be allocated to a driver about 15 minutes before it's marked in time or available for other drivers to apply for or as they got close to the area is question. That explains the driver getting into you as early as he did.

    As for the meter starting early, either he was chancing his arm or else he got the job as an ASAP pick up and upon ringing you he took that to be the hiring taking place. Ring Xpert if you are unsure about it.

    Without meaning to hijack the thread, this kind of issue is quite common with all the taxi booking apps I use, both here in Ireland and abroad.

    I've never had a driver start the meter while waiting before but I have been given out to by drivers for keeping them waiting!

    If I book a taxi for a time it's because I want to leave at that time, not earlier, not later.

    If the driver arrives early I'd expect him to wait and call me about 5 mins before the booked pickup time, not call 10, 15, 20 mins early and put me under pressure to be ready and make me feel guilty for making him wait.
