    Hi everyone,

I have recently gotton into making my own jewellery as a hobby and am really enjoying it. I have some steel wire I think its 2mm and also some 1mm. I have many beautiful designs I wish to make as pendants but am wondering is it possible to solder steel wire to steel wire using a soldering iron?? I have seen some youtube videos of people using blow torches but that was for sterling silver and I cant find that equipment online :(

Thank you for any info :)

Try wire wrapping, I think solder would be too soft to join them. I may be wrong.

Hi, i just read your post and was wondering how you got on? Did you try it and if so then did it work? I am looking for soldering tips too and i was looking into buying my own kit with the butane blowtorch and the most reliable one and accurate for the job is from an online store in England but will cost me roughly €70-80 with postage :( i am seriously considering it as i can get it back in tax (I have just made my hobby into business) but it's such a pity and extremely annoying that we can't get it here in Ireland :(
