Excel Table Quiz Scoreboard

    Hi all

I am doing a spreadsheet to be used in an upcoming table quiz.

Here is the format I am using, based on a previously attended quiz:

    TABLE ROUND 1 ROUND 2 ROUND 3 ROUND 4 ROUND 5 ROUND 6 ROUND 7 ROUND 8 ROUND 9 ROUND 10 TOTAL
    TABLE 1
    TABLE 2
    TABLE 3
    TABLE 4
    TABLE 5
    TABLE 6
    TABLE 7
    TABLE 8
    TABLE 10

I'd like to display the top 3 teams prominently.

Does anyone know how to a formula function in excel that let you highlight the 3 highest values in a column?
Or how to make the top 3 values appear in colour or with a nice border around them?

    Thanks in advance.

Use the RANK() forumula to rank them in order. Then use conditional formatting to change the colour of rank=1, rank=2 etc. Make sure you watch out for how it handles tied scores.

Alternatively, in the later versions of Excel, the conditional formatting options allow you to highlight the top 10 values (without first using the rank formula) and you can amend the 10 to any number you like (3 in your case).
