Lincoln travels to the alternate universe and team up with his own counterpart and the alternate Olivia Dunham to solve a vigilante case in which a shapeshifter appears to be acting like a modern day superhero.

So... Peter being erased from the timeline also erased Batman! Interesting. (for those confused, see the 2nd series finale and Peter's old comic book collection from redverse - specifically death of Batman.)

Here... scroll down to Popular Culture.
Popular culture also has its own differences in films, sports, books and people. One thing's for sure--sequels are just as popular over there:

♦ Len Bias, the basketball player who died of a drug overdose on our side, is still alive and received a NBA Most Valuable Player Award. (120 - There's More Than One of Everything)

♦ Back to the Future starred Eric Stoltz, and other films in 1985 were Clue, Superman vs. Batman 2, Indiana Jones and the Hex of the Hydra, Star Wars: Legion of Droids, Splash 7, Smokey and the Bandit: The Final Lap and Mask vs. Joker. (216 - Peter)
♦ The television show The West Wing is now in its 11th season (where it only reached 7 in our world). Barack Obama and Sarah Palin are on the advertisement for the show. (222 - Over There, Part 1)
♦ Cabbage Patch Dolls are still popular in 2010. (222 - Over There, Part 1)

♦ Alternative comic books (223- Over There, Part 2):
o Crisis on Infinite Earths sees Supergirl holding a dead Superman. (Our version has their roles reversed.)
o Death of Batman (Death of Superman in our world)
o Red Lantern & Red Arrow (Green Lantern and Green Arrow in our world)
o Superman: Man of Steel Returns (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns in our world)
o Different members of the Justice League
♦ The Brooklyn Dodgers never left Brooklyn and remain in New York City rather than moving out to Los Angeles. (223- Over There, Part 2)
♦ Tom Cruise might be a TV star, rather than a film star. (301- Olivia)
♦ Dogs is a musical in NYC, rather than Cats. (301- Olivia)
♦ The band U2 or lead singer Bono aren't present in the other universe, or aren't well known. (302- The Box)
♦ Cary Grant, not Humphrey Bogart, starred in The Maltese Falcon and uttered the famous line "The stuff that dreams are made of." (305 - Amber)
♦ John Lyly, English Renaissance poet, never seems to have existed or was otherwise unknown. He was the one who said: "The rules of fair play do not apply in love or war", otherwise known as "All's fair in love and war." (306- 6955 kHz)
♦ Casablanca starred Ronald Regan, and the film had a happy ending. (307 - The Abducted)
♦ Board Game called Quarantine Zone. (307 - The Abducted)

I was a little confused with this episode. Remember in a previous episode, the one where Olivia was kidnapped with the real Nina Sharpe and the fake one disappeared into the other Universe, surely they would have alerted their counterparts about this, thus checking on Nina and previously discovering what she was doing? Or have I missed something?

I prefer red headed Olivia, much more fun.

Best Fringe episode in a while, without a doubt. Glad the writers aren't afraid to have interesting, likable characters actually die - even if it was "only" the alternative Lincoln. Kinda expected that the question of how there lives diverged to have been dealt with more ie maybe alt Lincoln had never had that partner who died, which affected his outlook on life, or something along those lives.

Nina problem is bothering me also :/

Was this Nina not in hiding? They only found her location due to Canaan. She wasn't in Massive Dynamic.

I'm not entirely sure now that you mention it. Can't remember the Alt-Universe, or even this one, making reference to Alt-Nina at all.

I don't think we've ever seen alt-Nina up to now. When there were two Nina's in our universe this season the general assumption was that she was a shape-shifter rather than from the other universe.

I had a feeling we'd lose Lincoln after the 'reveal' that Peter is in the right universe but I didn't think it would be by killing original Lincoln and him deciding to stay in the alt-universe.

I think it's fair to say that nobody has filled in Walternate and Elizabeth that Peter is actually their son. I think they'd want to know that.

I think the reason for the differences between the 2 Lincoln's was Olivia. Alt Lincoln met her much earlier in his life and due to this it encouraged him to be the man he always wanted to be and knew he could be. Also Lincoln was a solider and had to deal with battling to save his world alot earlier also. Think the main thing is Olivia though.

Our Lincoln has only recently come to know Olivia and the whole Alt Universe and just when he though he was "in his right place" back came Peter and ever since poor Lincoln has been gettting his heart given back to him in small sharp pieces from Olivia and kind of being pushed out by the rest.

Mind you though in the 2 universes poor Lincoln both have been rejected by their respective Olivia's. Poor guys.

I wonder how far they'll go with Lincoln, will he become a bad guy and join up with Jones, or maybe this late in the season they might be setting him up as a bad guy for next season?

Also, has anyone else noticed that since the reboot, alt-Lincoln didn't seem to be infected with spider-thingies. I was looking forward to seeing more about those, hope they haven't been abandoned by the writers.

I know the alt-universe was experiencing cracks in time due to Walter crossing over and those cracks were being contained with amber but how were the cracks causing problems to the air quality? For some reason I'd always assumed the air problem was actually a regular environmental issue caused by the fact that they had advanced faster than we did. If the existence of the bridge is somehow repairing the cracks does that mean that in time all of the people encased in amber will be set free at some point?

Nah Lincoln is one of the good guys. I can see him staying in the Alt Universe and maybe becoming more of the confident man he wants to be. With the episode being called "Everything in Its Right Place" it seems to hint that our Lincoln is now staying where he was meant to be.

There would be no reason for him to side with DRJ. He is still out for justice for his own partner being killed and now he has the death of his Alt and that he will want to get justice for Olivia too, as they both lost someone important in their lives.

As he is also a "good guy" and Alt Olivia said she goes for the "good guys" maybe this is the Olivia Lincoln is supposed to be with. She a bit more fun anyway.

Also it was Charlie who had the bugs in this body not Lincoln. That is why "bug girl" aka Mona was into Charlie in one way and they got married in Charlie married her -start of this Season I think Lincoln passed a comment on it.

Do you remember in s1 or s2 when they found walter and took a bit of his brain back and made a comment accusingly "all the plants/trees are gone on our side"
so it must be connected to them

i would assume the amber people would be freed especially since they are conscious in there

Where is alt-Charlie and without Peter's influence on things is our universe's Charlie alive or dead?

Well our Charlie is still dead as Walternate still sent the shapeshifters over so they would have still killed Charlie.

Alt Charlie has not been mentioned by Olivia or Lincoln so we can take it he is still off on honeymoon with bug girl aka Mona or is just on a leave of absence.

The actor who played Charlie was off doing another series I think Prime Suspect in the US so due to that he could not play the role much but as that has been cancelled it be intersting to see if he is back for an episode or two.
