Need to get some scratches, chips, smallish bumper hole and various other marks cleaned up. Some are pretty deep and go over a couple of different panels.

Can anyone recommend anyone they have used personally?

I am obviously looking for a good price however a top job is more important.

I am based in the Swords area.

I've used Trimtech is Airside before and can't complain about any of the work they have done. Always found them to be keenly priced as well. They seem to specialise in the knid of jobs you are talking about. They do alot of work for main dealers and auto rental companies in the airport.

There are two places next door to each other in Lawless Yard, just up from the Carnegie Court towards the main street on the opposite side of the road. Both are reasonable and both do good work.

Do you know the names by any chance?

I'm afraid I can't remember: I've always just called down to them rather than phoning.

I only go to the smart repair centre in cookstown, tallaght. bit out of your way but worth it, I got prices a few months ago and I saved more than half, I got one quote for 900 and Kevin done it for around 250 (I think, not far off anyway)

Thanks, will give them a ring in the morning.

    Anyone else got any recommendations?

I don't know if you comparing like with like here. Chances are the bigger quote was from a main dealer or proper bodyshop. Smart repair places are different and the standard of finish may not be the same though they will usually be much cheaper.

In the same vein I was rear ended a few years ago. The main dealer (once he heard insurance was paying) quoted €1,100 for a full respray of the rear bumper. Trimtech repaired the the bumper for €150.

What was the quality of TrimTech's work?

To my untrained eye the job was excellent. The damage was light to begin with and when repaired was IMHO as good as new.

In the main dealership the quote was in excess of 1700, they insisted I needed to replace the bumper.
The quotes that were approx 900 were completing the exact same work, the only difference was the labour costs, I even got a break down of a quote from a crash repair place near the m50 tallaght exit and the labour was being charged at 85 euro an hour!

My uncle owns a sales garage and also only uses the smart repair centre, he has land rovers, Mercedes, porches, not just cheap cars.

I had my car in ford after it was fixed up and the guy I was dealing with in the ford paint shop said ace done an amazing job.. That was the company he refered me to, their quote was 650 as he was giving the garage discount to me, previous to that it was 1100 from them. He thought I had the bumper replaced.

I can't fault them, its down to you op and everyone will have pros and cons of different company's, but im my personal opinion I recommend them, and I done a lot of research and got different quotes.

I will admit I should have listened to my uncle, I guess I thought it sounded too good to be true, plus im very fussy about who touches my car, I scrutinise everything.

    Thanks.

Trim Tech have given me a quote of €900 to do the bonnet, blend in the front panels, front bumper, rear bumper, buff and touch up the rest and do all the outside plastic trims.

    Does this sound reasonable?
