best satellite Broadband ?

    hi

    looking for help with the following, ive got 8mb ngb with eircom, which i use for PS3 (MW3), ive done all the port forwarding and bought a good (imo) router - Netgear, have all the setting i think correct but im still getting a 2/4 second delay with my broadband when online, im passed pissed off, so im now thinking of getting satellite broadband, i live in north westmeath.

    any ideas of the best way to solve my issues please,
    all help greatly accepted.

    ...and you think Satellite broadband will be quicker than uncongested via cable?

    You're going to have a latency (delay) of around half a second minimum on satellite (due to the signal having to travel 150,000km, give or take) so a better option is to sort the current problem out.

    Have you spoken to Eircom about this? If so, what did they say. You have to remember that the delay may have nothing to do with them! Have you checked your connection speed? If so, what result did you get?

    Satellite would be far worse, I'm afraid... First thing would be to get onto Eircom and see what the story is

    Is there any other services available.. UPC, Fixed wireless!? maybe even 3g/wimax?

    Fixed wireless would be your best bet if there's no cable/phoneline options available
