A small number of places have become available to the join the Irish team for the GBI 2012 charity cycle. This unique charity event is an 850km cycle from Oslo to Düsseldorf taking place from the 10th to 17th June.

The limited number of places are available to any experienced cyclist, preferably with a Telecoms or IT background, who are willing to get involved in training spins and the all important fundraising.

For GBI 2012, the Irish team will raise much needed funds on behalf of Spinal Injuries Ireland (SII). This charity provides support and outreach services to people with spinal cord injuries. On average one person a week sustains a spinal cord injury in Ireland, an injury that is recognised internationally as one of the most devastating and debilitating a person can experience.

There is no registration fee to join the tour, each participant will simply need to raise a minimum of €500 all of which is donated directly to SII. The cost of logistics for the trip, including accommodation and food during the week, are covered by corporate sponsors with the exception of flights to Norway and home from Germany. With the low cost of entry in mind it is hoped that any new recruits will aim towards a fundraising total of €1,000.

If you would like to know more please send me a PM for a document with additional info about the tour or post a question below.
