Travelling From Tara Street to Dun Laoghaire

We're going up for a ferry tomorrow. There are two options (we live far from Dublin), arrive 9:50 by bus into Dublin or at 11:30. I know we then have to take the Dart to Dun Laoghaire from Tara Street.

My question is given that the latest we can be at the ferry port is 12:45, is it realistic to take the later bus? We have a young child with us and would rather not spend too much time waiting around.

Is arriving into Dublin at 11:30 early enough to realistically get to Dun Laoghaire by 12:45?

Yes arriving Dublin 11.30 will leave plenty of time to reach DL by 12.45. Departs Tara St 11.58 arr DL 12.18. Ferry terminal is next to Dart stn 100 yards at most.

If you're arriving at Busáras why not take the Dart from Connolly?

Thanks both. We're probably coming by private bus company that doesn't stop at Busaras so Tara is possibly nearer.

Darts from Tara every 15 minutes. It takes about 25 minutes at most to get from Tara to Dunleary and there is a rear exit direct to the Ferry, about 100 metres away.

Is this the check-in time or the departure time?

You can check DART services here: http://www.irishrail.ie/index.jsp?p=119&n=157
