    As the title says...
I've been looking at them on various sites and stuff but I'm totally confused so hope some of you lads could give me some help.
I want a good quality job and not cheap ones that look crap and will break.
Will 6000k give me the really white light?
And I'm useless at diy jobs, can someone recommend me a place where I could buy them and have them fitted aswell??
    Thanks!

What age is your car again?
    I assume it has projectors?
    H7?

This is what I got fitted to my '10 Octavai vRS

    NON Canbus - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xenon-HID-Conversion-KIT-H1-H3-H7-H9-H11-HB3-HB4-9006-/330379335700?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cec249814

Get someone with vcds to recode to suit

Install takes no more than 30 minutes.

Plug and play. No special knowledge needed.

    Well worth it.

I am not certain if your car has the canbus system or not.
ND might be able to confirm this for you.
If not it is a straighforward job.

Should have projector units, again ND may be able to confirm this for you.

They would be canbus but not all B7's have projector head lamps. In fact most paddy spec ones don't.

cheers, I haven't a clue about these things unfortunately...
So is it not recommended then?

    They are reflector headlamps.

It may be possible to buy reflectors from a crashed car, or aftermarket headlamps with the LEDs fitted. Not my cup of tea but everybody has different taste.

They don't look like projectors to me either but I could be wrong.

There are bulbs ( hid ) out there I think specially for Halogen lamps, These bulbs are ending in the letter "R"

So if it is a H& bulb kit you need get the "H7R" kit

Also for best light go for the 4300 bulb.
I put 5000 in mine and find them just a little too blue.
But then if the blueish effect is what you want then go for 5k or 6k.
the 8K is way too blue for my liking.

No they aren't projector lamps, so not suitable for HID kits, that doesn't stop people fitting the mind you, but you'd be better off with some upgraded bulbs IMO.

All new cars fitted with HID's mush have self levelling headlights, be projectors and have head light washers fitted so I suspect that this will be an NCT requirement at some stage in the future.

I might be dreaming but I am sure I read somewhere that IF the self levelling and washers are fitted they must work. I am sure it said nothing about HID's without them
