    One of the women in work has a Rav4, she loves it. Great family car and can tow a horsebox. She says its ok on diesel if you drive it right (like anything i suppose - my landcruiser does 30mpg)

    It comes down to personal preference, the OH might like the high driving position as opposed to the BMW(especially if lifting small ones into back seats is in the equation). No doubting the Toyota's reliability. Mileage much of a consideration?
