my mother in law just had a crash, she was hit from behind and rammed into the car in front, the car that hit her was driven by the wife of a guard who was rushing to hospital as she had gone into labour, when she called 123 they told her the women was not covered by insurance as your not allowed to drive in labour !!!!
so my question is what happens now regarding claiming ?

123/RSA Will still deal with your mother. What they do.next is of no.concern to you. They have a legal obligation to discharge Labor Ladies Liability to you. If they give you an answer like that again, get a brief.... One with a reputation for being an anti Christ and have him tear them apart.

The car your mother in law hit will claim against your mother in law.
Your mother in law will have to get the pregnant woman to pay up through courts etc. if her insurance wont pay out.

Thats completely unnecessary and last case scenario.

Car 1 2 and 3 all in a row in order.

If 2 was pushed into 1 by 3 and 1 corroborates that there was only one impact then so as to save costs, 3's insurer will pay up.

I don't see how the her being the wife of a guard has anything to do with it, did you check was the car that hit her insured? It doesn't matter if the driver has 15 pints on them, their insurance is still liable for damage to your car.

Third Party Damage (your mother in law's) will always be covered regardless of whether the pregnant womans own damage is covered,

    You have 2 options:

    1) Get her insurance details, give them a ring and inform them you wish to claim.
    2) Claim form your own Comprehensive insurance and they will recoup they're loss from the pregnant woman's policy. Your bonus won't be affected once the loss is re-couped. This can be a longer process but easier.

Sorry OP, point to note. Your mother in law should call her own Insurer irrespective of fault / blame straight away and inform them.

    she did ring her insurance(123)

    Right...

So your mother in laws insurer is commenting on Indemnity with respect to a Third Party (and possibly a different insurer) ??

yes they are stating that as the person that caused the crash is not insured because she was on her way to the hospital after going in to labour, i dont see what that has to do with anything, they surely still have to repair her car and sort that stuff out for themselves

I am quite suprised they made a statement like that re another party.

Irrespective, ask them to send the Liable parties insurer a letter of allegations and see if the other side will deal with you directly ( if your mother in law wants that )

They know what they're at anyway but it seems like an odd statement to make to a client.
