Canon 60Da Versus 60D

I have a few questions about this camera - I wonder if anyone can help?
I was just about to buy a Canon 60D body today (after a lot of research) and then saw the 60Da was announced.
I intend to use it with a telephoto/zoom lens (50-500mm) and mid range zoom lens (17-50mm) and work on long exposures in dark conditions.

Can this camera help me, or are all of it's night time features geared toward recording cosmic light in particular? Assuming you have the same lenses, will the camera perform equally well as the 60D?

    I also read this: http://www.omnitechnews.net/2012/04/02/canon-60da/
    Extract from link:
While good for looking at space, Canon does not recommend the 60Da for use other than astronomy, otherwise giving your photos a distinctive red tint.

Surely they might have considered people may wish to use such an expensive camera on general work too?

    Thanks!

It looks like a 60D that has been tweaked for Astronomy. Seems they have altered the IR Filter Spec and allowed higher ISO levels, which would be noisy for general photography.

Its aimed purely at astronomy purchasers and they say it will give regular shots a red tint, the 60d is a good camera for the money and should serve you well.

Thanks guys! I guess I was trying to see if there was anything applicable in the 60Da's upgrades for stargazing photography that could be useful for general night time photography. I am seeing only negatives (pardon the pun).

    I appreciate your responses!

    Cheers

I am looking for 60D 17-55mm kit to begin my photography with. Where is best to purchase this camera? Local stores offer way over €1000 when EBay sell new ones from HK for €750. Any recommendations?
