Watching this Lynch directed music video for his recently released album reminded it's been 6 years since his last film. I miss him. He needs to get back to directing feature films - pronto!

    Warning: NSFW!

Oh my, I thought he was dead for a sec!

Cinema is a less crazy place with his absence, but hard to call if another feature would be a joy or self-indulgent overload (I know many people would say the latter about Inland Empire, although I kind of like it despite its flaws).

But yes, Crazy Clown Time is the most eccentric musical number about clowns by an insane Hollywood personality since Crispin Glover sang about having a cigar.

I always imagined him to have a Tom Waits-ish kind of voice

Tbh, his best stuff (i.e. pretty much all bar Dune) is him in self-indulgent overload mode. It's what makes him one of the best there is.

My favourite DL is Straight Story.

Most of them are in a league of their own though. I miss him too.....

Has anyone listened to the whole album?

I have it, just haven't had a chance to listen to it :/

Some bizarre collaborations on it. If you've ever dreamed of a Lynch / Karen O avant-garde duet, this is the place!

I was at an event recently where Neil Jordan was being interviewed and he referred specifically to David Lynch regarding directors that are less willing to continue directing due to the proliferation of illegal downloading (because, I think, of the effect it is having on box office numbers on those kind of independent films which find it difficult enough as it is to get made). I don't know if Jordan knows this personally or whether he was just making a general example, but he seemed to indicate that he didn't believe Lynch would direct again or, if he did, he would be even less prolific than he was before.
Jordan's argument makes sense, but let's hope he's worng..

Nah, Lynch never cared about how much money his films made. He could easily get independent financing for something if he wanted. The issue is whether he wants to make narrative films anymore. Jordan was probably talking about himself.
