Can I get a mortgage to buy an apartment in Dublin (for renting out) if I work in the Middle East?

It is possible under very stringent criteria... You will be looking at a loan to value of no more than 50%...

Wow. 50 per cent isn't a very good amount. What if I had an account in ireland that was being paid into regularly for the last 5 years and I will still be paying into regularly.

    Hi,
Did you manage to look into this any further?

I'm in the same position... I want to buy for when I move home. Earning good wage overseas, don't want to have to work for 6/12 months before getting approved for mortgage when I go back home...

    Thanks

There are loads of apartments in Dublin, and the property market hasn't settled down yet. What is the rush to buy?
