Going rate for mechanic to check over car?

Unless they had miles to travel, €50 is a fair rate IMHO.

Be careful the mechanic doesn't know the seller !

Have often seen 20 euro from buyer to mechanic for "checking" the car, and 100 euro from seller to mechanic for "approval" !

Not that I'm cynical or anything !
