    Just bought a Mondeo 02 and the previous owner didnt have the orginal FORD CD Player in it and so i was unable to use the remote control stick beside the wheel.

    Took a visit to ford to enquire about a new head unit and i was quoted E940+VAT!!!!.

    is it possible not to go with the orginal FORD player and have another make put in but still be able to use the remote stick beside the wheel?.

    Would i get the FORD Part from a breakers yard and can someone advise which is a good one to visit, Northside here.

    €940 + VAT... Bloody hell:eek::eek::eek:

    I don’t know about breakers yards on the north side (somebody should be able to point you in the right direction) but you should be able to pick up a Ford head unit for about €45 or they generally sell on ebay for about 60-65.

    940 + vat = €1156.20

    If you decide to go secondhand you might save about €1056.20

    thats the price for these head units from dealers, a updated sat nav disc for my accord is like 150gbp+ from the main dealer lol

    just for a dvd, can buy a whole new sat nav for that

    anyway, get a unit from a breakers yard or just forget the steering controls

    Got one of those for an 01 Focus recently, €80 from a scrapyard(could probably have been bargained down tbh).

    Stick with the original cd player, as it's less likely the sc*mbags will smash ur windows to get at it.

    There's a few 6000cd steros on ebay uk. They don't all list postage though, so would have to contact the seller.

    Last one of these I bought was at a car boot sale.
    5E.

    Code was got for free off the net.

    Working perfect in Mrs Gyppo's fiesta.
