Noisy Gas Heating

Our boiler has been very very noisy for the past while, it sounds like a helicopter hovering above.

So last week we rang Bord Gais and asked them to send a plumber out to fix it. The plumber had a look and said that the pump was set too high, it was set at 3 so he put it down to 2. This cost €90 for flicking a switch. It was ok for a day or two but now once the heating has been on for a while it starts to make the noise again.

The heating system was fitted in 2004.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this and how it might be fixed. All suggestions will be much appreciated.

    Thanks

It sends your spelling out of control too :D:D.

gdavis is right OP. Could be the fan or ketteling. If it was the pump running too fast it would have been like that from day one.
