Re-Registering car back in Ireland

    Hi Chaps!

I'm importing a car from the UK in a couple of weeks, now it was originally an Irish car so I assume I will not have to pay VRT as it would have been paid on first registration.

What do I need to do to get it back on Irish plates? Can I just rock up to a NCTS centre?

    Anyone ever done this?

    Cheers in advance

    A.

Put on the original Irish reg. plates, insure it, if it's out of Irish tax get RF1OO witnessed at a Garda stn. .If due it's Nct apply for one, drive away.

You have to re-register it as its currently documented as exported.

You are VRT exempt as the car already had its VRT paid when first registered in the state, but there may be a small processing fee.

Is it just a matter of calling into the NCTS and letting them sort it, or do I call the motor tax office?
