Im currently on casual workers and my wife is on JSA. We're moving house on Friday. My wife told the office last week when she was signing on and was just told to go to the new office when we move, that's ok for her as she collects from the post office, but what will I do about my cheques that come weekly? I have to have the yellow slips in for Thursday and get a cheque on Tuesday do how will this work with the move?

Also looking at just having one claim under my wives name. Would we still get the same amount if done this way? At the moment I get €203 and she gets €136 (we get half a child dependant each). So would the total still be the same if it was all under her name? Also would I still have to fill in the casual workers slips if I was on her claim?

    Regards

When you put your slips in this week attach a not with your pps number and change of details make sure to staple it to the yellow slip so they cant loose it also inform you landlord of your new address so if it does go there they can redirect it

as for going on your wives claim you can do that it should not effect your amount as you are getting the max amount for a couple with a child, however just go into the local office or get your wife to ask next time she signs on just to be sure but i dont see why it would change anything really

You need to transfer your claim to your new sw office. If you go as an adult dependant on you wifes claim any earnings from employment will be assessed as means for your wifes claim. Best thing to do is call into sw office and they will be able to advise you on your best option.

    Thanks for the replies.

I was told I can't transfer my claim until I move, which is all well and good for someone signing on and collecting from the post office but leaves me in limbo as my slips go in on a Thursday and my cheque is delivered on a Tuesday.

As soon as you go into you new sw office to transfer your claim they will automatically update your address on the system so cheques will go to your new address.
