Sell or Re-map?

I'm not so sure what to do. i only have two weeks of my 500+ mile a week commute left to do and i'm now looking at 200-250 miles a week or less.

see i'm only 21 and a bit of a "boy racer" at heart, i'd love something japanese and petrol again, a toyota corolla trueno or the likes, because of the relative "power" and the nice amount of kit that japanese import cars seem to have (power fold mirrors, a/c etc). i also feel the vectra has reached its peak value at the moment (2003 SXi, 2.0DTi, brand new NCT, low-ish mileage for a diesel of that vintage and a bit of tax) so it would be the prime time to sell and not get hit with the depreciation stick.

but on the flipside i like the vectra, it has plenty of kit and its not shy of buttons and extras, its looks respectable, it ticks nearly all the boxes, all except it's as slow as a wet week.

    so my questions :P

the vecta is a 2003, 2.0 DTi with 130k miles, is it possible to remap this car safely or at all to see some power gains? what are the pros and cons of such a move?

    or

    what is the car worth?
2003 Vectra Saloon, SXi trim, 2.0 diesel, 130k miles, NCT until 12/13 and tax until 07/12, its not "mint" but certainly very fresh for its age. and what "fun" car could i buy with the price of the vectra that will do 250 miles a week for under 60 quid?

interested to hear any opinions :)

sell the vectra for the few grand you can,

Buy a diesel passat/octivia for weekly runs, buy cheap skyline or similar, strap on bigger turbo and drive it until it explodes ( like the dukes of hazard/kaiddo )

student budget, taxing one 2.0 is enough, never mind two :pac:... reckon i could just about afford one fast-ish car :D

I think you're fairly underestimating how expensive skylines still are - you'd be hard done by to find a 2.5 turbo for under 4 grand, and at that it'd probably be a ball of shíte
