Need help with buying a new laptop

Im looking to buy a new laptop but I have no idea what's good to buy or value for money! I need a good amount of memory, both ram and hard drive as I do a lot of sound editing and recording. The editing software I use is adobe audition as i mostly edit for radio so I need something that will let me record to this also. Can anyone help me figure out what's a good laptop with a nice price please??

Well if you're looking for something good, but cheap then don't go with a mac unless you're willing to spend money. For sound recording, I'd go with 3/4gb of ram and a 500gb harddrive. A good processor will help.

I'd say go with that, but up spec if possible on the processor to an i3 or i5. You might be looking at an extra €150 on the price shown.

No matter what you buy, make sure it has at least a 2nd Generation Intel Core i3 processor, such machines are available now for less than 450 Euro.

Do not buy anything with an AMD E-Series Processor, Celeron/Pentium or first generation Core i3 (the difference can be told from the numbers the numbers: 1st gen i3-370M, 2nd gen i3-2330M for example).

The AMD E-series Fusion CPU is hopeless. If you want to buy in a store such as Curries, here's a nice Sammy w an i3-2330M for €519. If you shop online you can save 50 yoyos or more.

Thanks a mill, I was looking at the pavilions dv6, they are really nice and have good sound but they are a bit out of my price range, top end of my budget would be €500.

Absolutely not, this Turion model is over 2 years old and the PassMark score is only 50% compared to a 2nd gen Core i3-2330M.

And don't get me started on "Advent"...
