I'm a little confused as to how this works.

I want to apply to the MSW program for 2013 entry. However, I need to get more practical work experience before I can apply, which is going to take me some months to complete.

I'm assuming the closing date is somewhere around January of 2013.

In everyone's experience, does it matter if you apply a year in advance or right before the closing date? I don't think I'm going to have my experience in time to apply as early as possible, might need to wait until January and I'm very worried I'll be at a disadvantage
