Renewing car tax on car left for 8 months

    Yep I'm disorganised.

Anyway, I've left a sodding car on my property for the last 8-9 months untaxed and uninsured (used another car).

When I renew my car tax will I be charged back tax or is it from now? If I will be, is there anyway to get around this?

    Regards

Declaration of non use on the tax renewal form, you need the guards to stamp it

Do I just ask them? What sort of proof do I need?

    Mentioned from is RF100A
You don't need any proof. Just fill the form, and go to garda station so they can witness your signature.

Also, my car has one year of NCT left. Is it possible to get the NCT done again now so that I can sell it with two years?

    No.

One year nct is not bad, should be ok to be sold. Cars over 10 years get nct for one year only now, if yours is over 10 years old, it is so called full nct anyway. Tax it, service it and ready to sell.
