    Hi,

I have a Gallotone Champion acoustic guitar from the 50's/60's (not sure exactly and dont know how to date it) and trying to figure out if it should go in a skip or is it worth keeping.

I've done a search and main thing these guitars are famous for is that John Lennon started with one of them, other than that they appear to have been pretty cheap beginners guitars. Now obviously John Lennon never came near the one I have :-) but I guess the connection may make them collectible, I dont know. I couldnt actually find any currently for sale so no idea on its current value (if any!)

Its needs some new strings but generally in good condition.

    Any info or input appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Declan.

Gallotone was a company that made entry level guitars i beleive was in africa or the wood came from africa. The wood was laminated and gallotones claim to fame was to wood never cracks or splits.yes they are cheaply made guitars and arent worth much because they dont sound great but they make good wall hangers.ive been looking for one myself im a huge beatles fan.<Section removed by moderator - breach of forum charterpictures would be nice.
