    Found on slashdot..

"Scientists from Oxford University in the field of Applied Linguistic Enhancement have reported on ground-breaking research which they say enables anyone to learn any language they want in just a single day. "

    More details here.

Sounds a bit scary - involving connecting machine things to the brain! Anyone wanna volunteer when/if it gets here??

In my first year German book on the first page was "Ich spreche sehr gut Deutsch"("i speak German very well"), that was all I could say after one day of study.

Is that what they are calling learning a language in a day?

One of my nieces is right on that age where she is learning word after word. Its amazing how quick she went from "Da Da" to "put spongebobs on".

How come we lose that ability to absorb and assimilate language so quickly. I am so bad at languages I am surprised I EVER learned English.

You can't learn a language in one day but you can have four seasons in one day.

its like the matrix coming true!

i think connecting stuff to your brain and learning new languages and new skills in a day would be class - "I know kung fu!"

How does one say "happy fools day" in Arabic?

Shame it's not real. Would do away with the should-Irish-be-compulsory-for-14-years debate once and for all.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

One George Derwent Thomson, better known as Seoirse Mac Tomáis in Ireland, moved from Britain to Ireland back in the 1920s and became fluent in Irish in six weeks.
