Full respray for my 350Z

    Hi All,

I was washing my car this morning and noticed some very tiny stars of rust on the roof of my 350Z. Then I took a step back and there were scuffs and scratches on nearly every panel. It's been a well looked after car (both by me and the previous owner), but it's also been a well used car. I do love it so, I want to spend some money on it and give it a full respray as well as dealing with the rust spots now before they get serious.

The thing is, I'm not sure where to go. Do I go to crash repair shops? Or are there paint specific places? Can anybody recommend a shop in the Midlands (I'm in Mullingar) that would undertake such a job? Cheap and cheerful is not what I want either. The car deserves a decent job done on it.

I'm not sure whether I want to keep the same colour or do a complete colour change. I realise this will affect the price (possibly by a factor of 2), but it's a car I'm going to keep for a while so I want it at its best. Opinions on this would be good as well.

    Thanks,
    Al.

When it comes to paint, you get what you pay for. You will probably be looking at around 2-3k for a professional job. I would advise against a different colour, as people will think it was crashed when/if you do sell it

Thanks Anto. I'm aware of the prices and quite willing to pay for the right job. Also, I don't plan on selling it in the near to distant future. But all good points and well made.;)

The way around the whole "Oh it's been painted, it must have been crashed" thing is to take plenty of detailed pictures showing the car before the respray.

But as mentioned, you only get what you pay for when it comes to a job like this. For a car such as a 350z, I wouldn't hold back. 2k should see a very decent job done.

Does anybody have any experience of using Jarlath Ennis in Westmeath?
