    Question for ye,
2 of us are travelling tomorrow, 1 bag each, checkedin online. Now the other guy can't go but his boarding card says he has 2 bags and mine is pooled.
Will it matter when i turn up with my one bag?

No they won't care if you check less bags than stated -but if you haven't paid for yours separately they might want to charge you

Anecdotally AerLingus check in staff are fairly reasonable like that and are not the jobs worths some other airline staff are. But you may always get one who is.

we both booked 1 bag each and paid accordingly so I assume there will be no problem. Its just the boarding card says the friend has 2 bags and I am pooled!
Better bring my booking confirmation in case there is any issue.

Not familiar with the 'pooled' concept, can someone explain please?

Aer Lingus website says the following...

No pooling or sharing of baggage allowances is permitted, even within a party travelling on the same booking.

probably just something on the boarding cards, I assume when i go up to the desk, they will check my bag under my name and thats that.

Not sure how you'll fare out. I have two recent experiences of booking for a party of six and when we were checking in going out and coming back, everyone's bags had to be checked though as a single transaction by the same check-in agent and all in my name as I was the first name on the booking.

What happens if I hadn't turned up is anyone's guess - good luck!

I'm sure there will be no problem, I have found that they always put bags in each persons name, maybe they took the easy way out with your group?? Will be interesting!
