    Hi guys,

I got a swan neck towbar put on my skoda and they have put the plug in under the rear bumper with not enough room between the plug and bumper to connect lights if you know what I mean. Anyone know why it is there am I expected to cut a piece of the bumper out???

    Thanks

Put the socket on upside down

Is it possible to bend the bracket that the socket is mounted on to give the plug better access or how hard is it to move the connector location?

Are you sure the socket isn't the 'swing down' type?

Thanks for the replies guys. It's a 2012 skoda and hitch put on by dealer never knew they could swing down. Its actually facing the underside of the bumper and there isn't enough room between bumper rim and plug to get plug in - but like the upside down thinking! Will have a look again and give it a bit of a twirl seen very set though cause believe me i was swinging out of it!

Just out of curiosity, how much did they charge you for the privilige?
I bought a detachable swan neck from pfjones, with bypass relay for 211 sterling inc delivery . Was about 2 hours installation in all.

€400 seems to be the going price. I paid it for this swing down version and also for the last towbar I put on a Mazda last year.

From what I've heard tow bars are only going up in price. With modern electrics/computers on vehicles the amount of extra wiring is crazy for a simple piece of metal.

You'd think since manufactures are creating crazy wiring looms and fitting the same to all cars, regardless of spec, that they could have a tow bar block connector pre wired, since they already pre drill the holes.
