I needed a new clutch on my 2000 1.6 octy, 108,000 miles, so I decided that i would leave it to a local garage instead of struggling under the car on the ground for hours.
    BIG MISTAKE!
It came back after six days with;Driveshaft bolt loose.
Brakes not bled. Don't know why they were so spongey.
    Sills damaged.
    Wheel not tightend.
    Wheel arch trim on wrong.
    Clutch switch unattached to pedal.
    Footwell panel on wrong.
    Engine cover clips broke x2.
    Handprints on seats.
    Scratches on wing and door.
    new slave cylinder leaking
    gearbox end plate leaking.
I'm going to see him tomorrow and ask why is a brand new slave cylinder leaking. Its not the hose, its leaking from the base of the bleed valve.

    Atm she is suffereing from
    1. A hole/crack in the exhaust i noticed 4-5 days ago(no time off work to get it fixed yet)
    2. Power steering pump still pissing fluid guddo.
    3. Abit overdue an oil change

There was a time when cruelty to an octy like that could earn you a ban!!:D

Don't you know that the average life of a car these days is 7-8 years and you should be paying SIMI members wages by dutifully shelling out for a new one

Does sound like you've found a right lazy dickhead of a mechanic.

Anywho I went in this morning, and he said he would sort the slave cyl on monday. He did'nt say which monday though.

Christ I hope it's not a boards regular!

Not quite in Laois and no fancy website or premises but I'd have no hesitation recommending these guys for honesty and quality of work.

    No, I don't think he's a boardsie.

    In his defense though;

    He's slow. But he's rough.
