I have a question for anybody who has dealt with ordering an airsoft gun from a foreign company such as Ehobby or redwolf, I was wondering does your gun get stopped in customs and charged VAT and do you have to pay any extra fee for the delivery of the gun to your house (other than the shipping of course ) ??. Also is it worth your while ordering a gun from one of them companys or would you be better off just getting one off an irish retailer??

I haven't actually ordered guns from abroad but I can answer your questions.

It most likely will get stopped in Customs. They'll make sure it's under the 1J limit and destroy it if it isn't, so make sure it comes in downgraded. It will be charged VAT, unless you order from within the EU. As far as I'm aware, there's an additional handling fee from An Post.

It's always better to order from an Irish retailer if you can. You're supporting our economy more. More importantly (for you as an individual), if there's a problem you can take it right back to the shop, which you obviously can't do if the shop is in Asia.

That's all accurate to the best of my knowledge but I'm open to corrections.

A while back I was ordering from abroad from a site that offered a downgrade service , whatever mixup occured they shipped the gun with the original spring installed:eek: , fps was close to 370 ish if i remember correctly , and included an m90 spring in the box , gun got through fine and I swapped the spring myself.
