Why ladies only? If it was a race I could understand, but a sportive?

I see it's to raise money for a womens refuge, fair enough, but you may well be losing out on vital funds for your worthy cause.

Great idea! shame that its such short notice though his would have been the perfect thing for my gf to aim at if she had more notice.
Maybe a reminder earlier next year?

    Baet of luck!

Hi jimm, ladies only because we want to encourage more women to take up cycling and from talking to them we found they would prefer an event where there are women only on the roads. We also found that there have been similar events in the U.K and they worked brilliantly, surely it's worth giving it a try!

Hi thebouldwhacker, we did have a thread on this earlier in the year but unfortunately it attracted little attention and so we posted this one as a reminder. We have also had the info on our website and Facebook page for quite some time, as well as mentioning it on Twitter. It's on the CI calendar and we've e-mailed as many clubs around the country as possible. Sorry if none of these attracted your attention. However, the 50km route is very achievable and many of our own female members will be on the route on the day, a lot of which have only started in the last few weeks.

Thanks for the interest, maybe you could pass on info to anyone you think may be interested.

Can I come in drag? :pac:

To be fair to Deenside, they do host really good events and are the jammiest club in the country when it comes to weather :) (I've probably just jinxed that though :D)

If it's enough to convince us I'm sure you'll be allowed to cycle, shaved legs would be a minimum though. :)

We're in the middle of negotiations for the weather at the moment so fingers crossed.

You might have a sticking point there. Or at least the razor might have.
