Just noticed some lads protesting outside. Waterford Crystal on the Mall. Any idea what they're protesting about? Is it some sort of picket?

No, its the idiots from the socialist party complaining about the household charge. whatever your feelings about the household tax, these idiots go and protest like a labour strike outside our main tourist attraction putting off tourists going in etc. I will be saying it to them next time i see them.

FFS how stupid are those people? What do tourists know or care about the household charge, and more to the point, what can they do about it? If you've just arrived in town and want to see the place's main tourist attraction, all you're going to see is a picket, and you're going to stay away. What's more, you'll tell everyone about your bad experience!

Fcuking morons! Waterford Crystal and the Viking Triangle are the future of this city and these traitors are jeapordising it. They'd drag us back into the '70s if they got the chance. Fools!

Socialists are, as a rule the stupidest and most selfish people in politics. Its all about them and the need to make a show of same.

Not that I'm defending them or anything (as I don't know who these people are or why they're are protesting) but only the ground floor of that building is Waterford Crystal, the higher floors are City Council offices so I'd say that's the reason they're protesting outside there. I think some of the binmen (or other council employees) were protesting outside there themselves about a year or two back.

Well in fairness you're all talking about it and I'm sure you're not the only ones given the prominent location so they are getting their point across.

But the Council has already voted and has backed the opposition of the Household Charge so they are on their side in a round about way !!

Since when do protestors put tourists off? I've been to countless major cities with protestors and to be honest it never registers with me.

for a start it wasnt clear whether it was a labout protest or what. It was loud and off putting for older tourists. Tourists have seen the coverage worldwide of these protests go out of control also so they might decide, lets get outta here instead of passing by them
