Now that the Summer is over and we are starting back into the cold weather I was just wondering what everyone did for the Summer?

I had a BBQ last Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. Planted some herbs on Thursday and mowed the lawn too.

I also bought a 7 pack of Mars Icecream which was great, I had one everyday of the Summer...nice....

It's because of the bad spell we are likely to experience from early to mid, mid to late summer that people refer to the weather of the last several days as our summer.

Does anyone notice(in dublin at least) it hardly rains throughout the year and then once summer comes it never stops being dull and overcast?

lots and lots of days in the park doing nothing much in particular but absorbing the sunshine :), loads of icecream, and a good few beers in the beer garden with some tunes! yeah summer was quite awesome :D

I missed the summer because I was in Belgium for a few days and then came back to a huge pile of college work :( It was really sunny over there too, but when you get good weather away, you want to hear that it's freezing and lashing at home, not that it's 20 odd degrees! :P

Nah, it rained all through October & November last year. Sure didn't we even have floods? :P

    I was working :(
    Still enjoyed it tho...
It was great to see everyone smiling and talking about how great the weather... sun beaming down on the drive to work in the morning and sun beaming down on the way home from work, top off with an ice one out the back garden when arriving home.

now its back to all dull and gloomy and people moaning about how **** the weather is and household charges .. YAWN

5 people in work have already commented on how cold the weather has goten today ><

    TGIF :)

This summer I had to work so got approximately two hours of sun each evening so that's what, 10 hours of sun, not bad for summer in Ireland. So, the Christmas countdown must be next wha? :D

Got a 99 in from the ice cream van at the popes cross. Took one bit of it and then dropped it.
Spent the rest of the day shaking my fist at the deer.

Played a small bit of football, ate a 99, and had a bird **** on my collar.

Only nine months of cold weather until Christmas now!

If we had a few months like that, but maybe a few degrees higher, Ireland would be a much nicer place to live. Everything looks better in good weather.

I conveniently had my summer holidays, so I sat in beer gardens, walked in the park, never made it to the beach but prob too many people there for comfort anyway. Back in work this evening and it's nice and gloomy out again. I'm going back there thinking I have some super human ability to control the weather now though which helps.

edit: actually I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a decent summer this year as I'm changing jobs which means most day's between Tuesday's and Friday's will be nice as those are my days off. There'll be the occasional Saturdays too for all you mid week workers. Starting from May.

I spent the majority of it sitting down the Spanish Arch in Galway, reading a good book and listening to the music that people brought with them. That's what I love most about the place. There were people drumming, playing guitars and violins. Can't beat it.

Tiny bubble of summer left down in West Cork still! I was working down there today and on the way back to Cork, literally after 20km, I was back in the dreariness and drabness of the real Ireland.

This summer I wore some white underwear to deflect the heat. Which were worn under my black trousers for work...
I also wore a light-ish jacket with a hood and sandals on sock-free feet.

For years I have suffered with sinus problems always worse during the summer. Last summer was the last time I had a sinus infection. I think I may have confused it with hayfever because I have sinus problems back in full swing just this week.

What was the pollen count like this week?

    Feeling sh1te.

    I love the summer!

I had a 99 with two flakes in it! Two feckin flakes!

I cleared my wardrobe and packed up 8 black bags full of winter stuff and gave it all to a charity shop.

Hung up all my summer clothes and wore sandals on Thursday..

Now summer is over, I have the heating on, I'm freezing and have no suitable clothing to wear for the snow coming next week. :o

Cut the grass, had 2 BBQs!

I'm not exaggerating when I say EVERY neighbour repainted their garden walls :D
