I reckon they'd be as reliable as the day is long, being an estate it's not likely to have been rallied around. Is it a uk model?

Only sold in the uk. Interesting choice but why are you buying that particular model? The mechanicals are solid but if you want an estate there are other options.

Choice was because of budget of 1500 and space, baby and two 8 stone dogs. My current car is a 2.0 mondeo so tax would be a little cheaper and im guessing it wouldn't drink as much.

I would suggest looking for a tidy 1.9 turbo diesel vag car. Maybe a Golf or Octavia estate?

I bought a 01 mondeo 2.0lt diesel last week and i don't like it sounds like a tractor. Ill sell it soon. So my plan was just to go in engine size and stick to petrol. Tax on the mondeo i think was 600+ euros

Is that sound the only reason you're selling? Running costs will level out at least based on your fuel savings.

Yes its just the noise it makes i say the newer models don't make as much noise. The car will be only used a few times a week herself going to work and some on the weekend. Are you saying the 2.0 petrol mondeo would burn the same amount of fuel as the honda 1.6 engine?

No, the Honda will be more efficient alright. More reliable too. Go for it. They're fairly kak looking, but very reliable.

Aerodeck VTI-S would be a nice sleeper with the DOHC decals removed.. wouldn't mind one at all!

I do like them, I like wagons in general though

The Honda will be uber reliable and cheap/easy to fix should something go wrong. With that budget it'd be the job tbh
