have just been told by my parents that im not allowed play hurling against our wall at home anymore because its getting repainted. I am seriously upset and pissed off and its all i ever do in my free time. There are no other walls nearby either. What do i do now?? Or how can i persuade them to let me play again against the wall.

That to you is a serious problem? Cushy life fella!!

Use a clean sliotar/ball or offer to paint the wall yourself every few months - problem solved.

    Hmm not so sure.

Maybe ask the mods to move this to After Hours, there are plenty of experts on this sort of thing there.

Join a Club if you havn't already, and go training. Most clubs have a Hurling wall available to members.

There is only one solution here. Build your own wall in the back yard, tell your parents to f off and practice all you want. Everyones a winner

Move to China. They have a lovely big wall designed specifically for a puck about.

And by all accounts its excellent for a puck about. In fact I was told first hand it was a great wall.

As a moderator of this forum I know I should bring balance to discussion, feel empathy for the Op, try to think of a solution or offer advice, but it's too early in the morning and this is all I can think of

Use a tennis ball, wont damage the wall at all and will speed up your reactions! :D

Soak the sliotar in paint and use it to paint the wall . . win win situation i think!

My parents used get the same fit whenever the gable was being painted. They'll calm down after a while and things will go back to normal. If you could get some softer wall balls somewhere for the time being it'd help. They don't make much noise when they hit the wall so the parents won't notice it as much. It'll be up to you to keep them clean. Also, they genuinely are better for your touch.

If the parents aren't for budging, the hurling rebounder is only thirty quid or so and is actually pretty good.

I second the hurling rebounder - have one of them and I nearly use that more than the wall anymore. Comes back fairly straight at you, and you have to be accurate, unlike pucking off a wall, where you can kinda put it anywhere and have it come back

yeah the rebounder is great. i was in the same problem until last year #iknowhowyoufeel

Get the local hoods to grafiti all the walls on the house (inside and out)

That'll take your parents minds off you and the one wall !
