Jobseekers Benefit query

Last Thursday I was offered a trial at a company.
Last Friday I signed off online using the welfare.ie website.

I worked 2 days of the trial, on the 3rd & 4th I couldn't attend due to possibly the worst timed illness I've ever had, anyway the trial obviously didn't work out. My thinking now is that signing off as I did was premature but I was excited and confident about a new job prospect.

I didn't sign anything with this company, just showed up, did the work, went home so technically I wasn't employed by them. I even waived the right to any payment for those 2 days because quite frankly I was embarrassed and felt quite guilty for the inconvenience I placed on them.

As much as I hate it, I know I'll have to re-sign while I continue the job-hunt. It's an unusual situation I guess, I don't know but can anyone foresee any complications with signing back on?

    Any help is appreciated.

I wouldn't think so. It sounds like genuine misfortune so I can't see them causing problems for you. I signed off for five weeks work before, signed back on when the five weeks were up and they told me it could take four weeks to get my dole back in the Post Office. But, it was back there the next week.

It shouldn't be a problem. Go to your local office and explain your situation. They will probably ask why you signed off without getting the job. If I were you go to your doctors first and get a note for your sickness to prove to them. Take it with you and try go asap to get it dealt with. Best of luck :-)
