My own fault as left it late but called into local Physio this morning to book sports massage. Unfortunately next available appointment in tomorrow evening. Am running Conn on Sunday so not sure if I should give the massage a miss or take a chance and hope the legs are ok for Sundays 39.3 miles...

    Any thoughts

Let him know you are racing and most likely he will give you a light rub rather than a full on deep massage. Still should be of some benefit (both physically and mentally)

Yeah go for it. I had a rub down about 36 hours before the longford marathon last year and the legs felt great on the sunday morning. Just back from one now ahead of sundays 39.3 miler and most would think that was leaving it tight but it should be good.

As Ecoli said let the physio know of sundays race and if they know their stuff they'll take it easy (unless said physio is RQ ;))

I normally get a massage 2 days before a race. As the lads say it wouldn't be deep tissue stuff though. A lot of stretching at the end. I find it helps big time.

Regards whether you should get it, I suppose it all depends how your legs normally feel after a massage! Would it be more prudent not to risk it for your goal race in case it has detrimental effects?

    Good luck Sunday either way

Thanks for the advice gents.... Got a rubdown and legs tough a little tender feel alot better for it... Seemingly I was in good hands.... The young lad boasts clients such as Joe Sweeney and Sara Tracey.... Even O Lionaird was with him a couple of days after the Europeans so got the lowdown on his poor performance.. All in all a very entertaining experience :D
