I tried to put up an add on gumtree today for springer pups for a friend and got an email back sayin g this:

    Hello Chris

Thank you for posting on Gumtree. Unfortunately we have had to remove your ad "ESS pups" posted in the category "Belfast dogs and puppies for sale".

We believe that this ad does not meet our posting rules.

    Our rules include:
    - no items offered that we can't accept on Gumtree including adult items, alcohol, medicines and weapons
    - no offensive language or adult images in ads

along as a link with this : http://gumtree.force.com/Help/knowledgeProduct?c=Posting_rules

I searched around this and found this
    Don't

    No banned animals
No underage animals offered for re-homing
No breeders, commercial pet traders, stud or breeding services
    No puppy farms
    No dogs with docked tails
No trading animals for fighting purposes, or ads promoting fighting
Don’t sell your pet to someone who is under 16 years of age
    No 'working' dogs
    No eggs
    No pregnant animals
We do not allow the sale of animals as food
We do not allow any animals to be swapped for other animals, services or goods.
We do not allow the sale of prong collars
    No pets wanted ads
seems like done deal arent the only ones at it.

Did the pictures have docked tails and did you mention "hunting/working dogs" anywhere in the post?

theres plenty of people putting pets up, but i started mentioning some of the credentials of the breeding in the dogs, such as field trial champions etc when that email came through

They class that as a working dog.

Just as bad as done deal and adverts.

I'd love to know how Gumtree etc. justify this type of discrimination:mad:

There was a thread on here about adverts banning larsen traps and the adverts rep on boards just kept ignoring alot of points people made.

this isnt fair at all, i seen plenty of advertisements saying "good breeding" would make good DOGS or pets, implying that they will make a good hunting dog, but it can mean an awful lot of time wasting for genuine hunting men after a new pup and they are not too sure on how genuine an advert for hunting an advertisement could be, he could call a man, arrange to see pups and they end up to be pets with no ideas for hunting at all!

What alternatives are out there for posting hunting dogs in the same vein as these sites. The service concept is very good but the discrimination is pure scandalous! Reflection of the nutjobs in this country!
I put a cocker on donedeal last week & got the sane ****e!!

Maybe NARGC could start a site for Hunting dogs even if your not a Member say a small € 3.00 donation like DoneDeal and they upload your ad hope they are tuned in to this post good luck with the politics your getting.

No tail docking?? Do all successful advertising sites run by tree huggers or whats the story! Although @ least done deal let you mention that the pups are out of working parents!

    or www.gohunting.ie , free as well :)

Am i reading that right? There are only two adverts? Is it a new site?

Either way, my point is Gumtree, DoneDeal, even Adverts do not allow these advert anymore, and while the for sale section of the shooting forum may not have the readership of these larger, selling specific sites, it is still a largely read forum, and it's sole purpose is to provide a platform for the types of ads that others will not allow.

Saying you will never use DoneDeal, gumtree, etc again is "silly". Not meaning to insult anyone so excuse my wording, but i mean the sites are useful for other items you may want to buy or sell that are not shooting related. It should not come as a surprise that such sites avoid anything remotely shooting/hunting related.
