Tektro R580 - decent replacement pads

    Hi folks,
    Some advice needed,
Have 2011 Boardman team with Tektro R580 brakes, Mavic Aksium wheels.
Brake setup looks fine but Braking performance is quiet poor,
First logical step I presume is to change Pad type as I heard the stock ones are rubbish,
Can anyone recommend decent replacement pads for general sportive style riding
Dont mind spending reasonable money on good pads for safety reasons
but can anyone recommend something mid price range. i.e. dont fancy forking out €40 plus for a pair of swisstop pro pads or similar)
    Thanks......

    Thanks,
But dont think I could justify new callipers as yet,
Happy to try a new set of pads in meantime,
In Donegal so have limited shops to visit,
Local shop only has BBB brand pads in stock and I dont know if they would be any better than whats on at present.....

I found it was going to cost nearly as much to replace the pads as to buy the calipers that were on special. anyway, i find swisstop are good.

I recently got a pair of Kool Stop pads recommended the chap in my LBS. Never thought I'd notice a difference but they really are very good.

Yep, using the kool stop salmons on the front and pretty happy with them. £10 a pair from wiggle. Have you the cartridge brake shoes already?

The Brake shoes are of the type where you need just replace the Pad itself,
Will have a good look at those Kool stops,
    Thanks Guys..........

Where did you get them? Online?

Just spotted a set of Clarke pads on CRC,
Offer is for a pair of pad holders, pads and a spare set of pads for just under €12 delivered,
    Reviews seem reasonable,
Think I may give them a go at that price,
    Description suggests they are multi-compound,
Anything better than whats on at present

Cyclezone in Blanchardstown. €11 or thereabouts. Justin's on a mission to get everyone to use them.
