    could anyone advise me on the most direct bus route from newmarket/kanturk to carlow/kilkenny/portlaoise please

    three buses a day on the 243 to Cork City, (two of which you have to change in Mallow).. I imagine a bus to Kilkenny could be got from there or to Port Laoise.

    with Bus Eireann it appears that it's Newmarket to Cork, then to waterford and then to Carlow

    a real pain of a journey,m it seemd


    I know there is a Limerick-waterford-Carlow way too if you can get to the Limerick route at all, would save a couple of hours

    Which town do you wish to go to? No buses will serve all three.

    Firstly you will have to get to Cork on the 243 and change at Mallow onto the 51, Then depending if this is a one off journey and you can travel on a friday evening there is one bus a week from Cork to Carlow leaving Cork at 6.30pm on Fridays. Apart from that you can get to Cork then get the 40 to waterford and the 4 or 73 bus to Carlow is probably the least complicated. another option is getting the 7 from Cork to Kilkenny and getting the 73 from there to Carlow.

    the 13-20 departure from Kanturk is a through service to Cork.
