2001 318CI ABS warning like coming on and off, different everytime i start the car.
Had the above put on a computer and came back as front left ABS sensor/counter i think he said, €100 for the part, this easy to replace?

I think the problem is getting the old one out. They're normally rusted in.

what he said the retaining bolt always snaps and the sensor never comes out easy so what i did on my e39 was drill them out and use tiger seal where the retaining bolt goes to hold the new sensor in

It's unlikely to work properly, perhaps one wheel will lockup and the other won't causing the car to go in to an uncontrolled spin. You could test it if you go down to a beach or loose gravel and jam on to see if it kicks on. Not sure if the ABS system will disable fully with a fault or just on one wheel, if it kicks in you should feel a pumping sensation forcing your foot.

When the abs logs a fault or the abs light is on abs will be disabled.
