    Hi,
I have a Fortec Star FS-3300 saorview box, it works well with a HDD attached to the USB port.

Now I would like to access the HDD as a NAS, is it possible to connect the saorview box to a ethernet network to access the NAS.

    thanks

There are no Fortec Saorview boxes listed on http://www.saorview.ie/products-retailers/saorview-approved-product-listings/. You must have a generic box, nothing can be described or sold as a Saorview TV or box otherwise, only as "partially compatible with Irish TV". How does it manage RTEJr/RTE1+1 switching? Does it just have both on the same Program ID?

Unless it has an ethernet port or you can install your own Linux distribution, no.
