Help with Huawei E586 mifi

    hi all. I am thinking of getting the Huawei E586 mifi wireless modem from 3. The question I have is looking at my laptop (Compaq presario CQ62) and I can't see any obvious receiver or way for laptop to receive the wifi hot spot that the Huawei E586 will create.

    can anyone that has Huawei E586 give me advice, do I need to buy a usb wifi gadget ? which one would be best one to work with Huawei E586 mifi ? any help or advice would be a great help.

    If it has no internal wifi, you'll need a USb one. Check in Device Manager under Network Connections, or Control Panel-->Network

    Your laptop laptop does have a WLAN adapter (Realtek r8192se). If it is turned off, try F12 or Fn + F12 and an orange LED should come on.

    You can also connect the Huawei E586 with a USB cable (which defeats the purpose). ;)
