new bath vs renu old cast iron one

    Doing a job on bathroom at moment should I get a new bath or get the old (1961 ) re enameled got a quote of €200 to do up old one ?:confused:

    Without a doubt get the old one renewed there is nothing like a cast iron one.

    Just renew the cast iron bath. The acrylic ones now dont have a patch over them. Thats why acrylic is so cheap.

    If the bath is going to be boxed in make sure to stuff around the sides with Rockwool or fibreglass insulation. It'll stay warmer longer and it'll be quieter when filling.

    Got the quote from guy who got job done last year but he has no idea who did it . Who does that work in Galway please

    As far as i know renu bath do a nationwide service , Google renubath.ie and check it out

    we had ours renewed and it peeled off after a short time.We changed to a plastic on.Cathy

    I was told that by a few friends a new bath costs about €150 including taps im told, €200 just to renammel. Must make my mind up time any other views on this ?

    I have seen really old cast iron baths renewed back to perfect condition, and have visited years later and the bath was still perfect condition.
